"Then there’s the confirmation of what’s been rumored for weeks: that Questlove will again join the entertainment ranks of chef and philanthropist Marc Vetri’s Great Chefs Event for Alex’s Lemonade Stand at the Urban Outfitters complex at the Philly Navy Yard, June 11. Quest will spin as part of the after-party entertainment at Vetri’s N. Broad Street hang, Alla Spina, a gig whose live entertainment features the Joseph A. Ferko String Band."

Marc Vetri talks about the possibility of Eataly in Philadelphia

"We’ve been hearing a lot of rumors that Mario Batali wants to do an Eataly at 8th and Market in the Strawbridge’s building. Have you heard much about that?

I have. But he’s not necessarily involved. There have been negotiations for the last year. We were actually looking into doing a large market there, and then the real estate developers have also been in touch with the guys from Eataly. It’s all like in the early discussions."

Saisonale saison week coming to Alla Spina April 8-14

"Continuing their efforts to educate Philadelphia craft enthusiasts in the ways of Italian beers, this Tuesday Alla Spina (1410 Mt Vernon St.) is welcoming two collaboration beers from Brooklyn Brewery and Amarcord, an Italian craft brewery located in Rimini i.e. Fellini country.

AMA Bionda, a blonde brewed with Sicilian orange blossom honey and and AMA Bruna, a brown ale with notes of caramelized sugar and toffee are making their Philadelphia-area debut. Amacord's Andrea Pianini will be on hand to chat and both brews will be served with a complimentary paired plate."
