Nancy began her career when, as a teenager she got her first job and fell in love with the industry. A native Philadelphian, she has held serving and management positions in several of the city’s best loved and critically acclaimed restaurants over two decades. She joined the Vetri family as the first server hired prior to opening day at Osteria. At the time she was teaching wine classes at a community arts center in University City having studied wine for years, formally and informally and was hoping to specialize. You can still see her educating the dining public at our chef’s table wine classes.
Nancy’s rise in the organization came quickly, captivated by the passion that Chefs Marc Vetri and Jeff Michaud, and partner Jeff Benjamin have for food, wine and service she was able to continue her growth and realized she had found a comfortable home with the Vetri family. Within weeks her enthusiasm for Osteria became obvious and she was offered a manager position. Guided by Jeff Benjamin, she took over as General Manager eventually training the General Managers for the entire organization. She is now responsible for translating that passion throughout the company. She truly lives the industry as she is also married to local chef /restaurateur Rich Benussi!
“It’s the best of both worlds for me; I can be involved in all aspects of the restaurant and work with incredibly talented professionals on a daily basis. When service begins, I have the opportunity to meet guests who really appreciate what we do. Every day I get to provide for many people the best meal and experience they have ever had. I love being a part of that”
Nancy’s commitment to the family extends to our charitable arm, the Vetri Foundation for Children. She works tirelessly every year to hire and train over 150 volunteers to produce the Great Chefs Event.
